This is the weatherboard house where Passy and the children lived in Rugari. We wanted to give the children a bigger, better, healthier and safer home in a more protected area.
LAND IN RUMANGABO
We bought land in Rumangabo, in Virunga National park, not far from where the Park Rangers live, and started construction on the first of several new buildings to provide a range of facilities for the children - dormitories, kitchen and dining area, workrooms for activities and training.
Progress on the first building
The first building is nearly completed.
The children moved in September 2018 into their new home.
Now work begins on the second building.
The second building is nearing completion.
Arrival of the water tank to provide safe, clean water for the children.
Marlene is just one of our 68 'projects'. She was taken in by Passy as a newborn baby after her mother died in childbirth.
